Paying attention to what the teacher says, instead of interuprting is a good way to earn respect from your teacher. Also if you respect all of the rules even if you don't like them all.
When in groups it's just as easy to earn everyones respect. The simpliest way to get respect would be to listen to what everyone has to say. But don't forget, you shouldn't interupt either.
At home respect is easier to earn. Doing chores is a great way for getting respect. Good manners is just as good as a way.
Getting respect from your friends is the easiest out of all. All you basically need to do is be nice. Or another way would be to help them out with things.

Helping your friends with things is the best way to earn your friends respect and trust! your totally right! That way your friends can learn to count on your when they really need to.
